SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Supporting Social Development of our Employees and their families

CAIPSA has a scholarship program that offers different opportunities for their employees. Through the application process candidates present their qualifications and what they desire to study. Administration approves accordingly and decides the type of scholarship to give out (full/partial). Here are some of the people that have benefited from the program:

My name is Blanca Paola Prado Laguna, I am 25 years old, and have been working for Finca Pensylvania in the packing plant area for 7 years. I was granted a full college scholarship by CAIPSA. Thanks to CAIPSA and their scholarship program, they motivated me and many of their young collaborators with low resources to reach a higher level of education. As of today, I have a degree in Business Administration.

My name is Eduardo José Moya Martinez and have worked for CAIPSA for over 12 years. Since joining the organization one of my best memories is the support I received to complete my higher education studies in Agricultural Engineering.
I am thankful on how the company gave me the opportunity to grow and have greater responsibilities. I feel grateful for the unconditional support that CAIPSA has given me to become the professional I am today.

EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Taking care of Payroll costs

For over 15 years, CAIPSA has fully funded the payroll for 10 instructors at a local school: “Hogar Divino Niño”. The school has over 80 students from K-6, all form the local surrounding communities.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Preservation and support of our flora and fauna ecosystems

Our plantations are using the minimum amount of chemical controls, using less plastic for banana bunch protection covers, and all the plastic used in the process is recycled. We optimize and monitor water use in the packing process in the plantation. We have a total of 24.5 ha of reforested area that hold a variety of species. Additionally, CAIPSA operates an on-site airport with high chemical management standards. We periodically train our employees in the protection and conservation of the environment.

RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT

Installation of Solar Panels

In order to decrease fossil fuel energy consumption and reduce our ecological footprint, all three of CAIPSA’s packing facilities are running partially on renewable solar energy. The project is expected to continue growing for the years to come.
